Year 5 learn all about the Judicial system on their visit to the National Justice Museum
Our children learn about Australia and support those affected by the bushfires
Year 4 enjoyed their trip to the Buddhist Centre this week. In this beautifully restored building, they revisited their learning of the story of Buddha as they sat in the shrine room. They also gained an interesting insight into the importance of his teachings in the daily lives of Buddhists living in modern day Manchester. Many of the children particularly enjoyed the guided meditation which left them feeling wonderfully calm and relaxed at the end of the visit.
Our theme in Pre-School this week was sunny days. We were all hoping to see some sun but it spent the week hiding behind the clouds! We know it is there because we discovered the sun is a star at the center of our universe. It gives us day and night and the seasons. When the sun does appear we know how to protect ourselves from its rays. In woodland play we took some toys into the woods and built them a shelter so that they too could stay safe.
Odd Socks Day is supported by cBeebies presenter and ABA patron Andy Day and his band 'Andy and the Odd Socks'. Hold Odd Socks Day for Anti-Bullying Week 2019. This year it happening on Tuesday 12th November to celebrate what makes us all unique in Anti-Bullying Week.
Year 3 enjoyed an exciting and informative trip to the Manchester Police Museum on Wednesday. We all learned a huge amount about the history of policing and law and order in our society. We heard how policing and the rule of law has changed and evolved; and which aspects (and some rather bizarre laws!) have remained the same. A fantastic experience, the children were a credit-really engaged and enthused throughout the whole trip. Well done Year 3!
