Extrcurricular

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Exciting and educational school trips are a part of life at Abbotsford. Your child will have the opportunity to learn by visiting various places of interest and participating in extracurricular activities and school clubs.

On school trips, children experience culture, nature and history first-hand through visits to places such as The Lowry and the Manchester Opera House. At nearby Dunham and Bramall Halls, children learn how people lived in times gone by and visits to Chester provide excellent educational opportunities about the Romans.

There are also trips to BBC Manchester to show pupils with an interest in music and drama how a studio works, as well as visits to the Museum of Science and Industry and the Manchester Museum help bring lessons alive. There are further great opportunities between Years 3-6 as children have the opportunity to go on residential visits to outdoor adventure centres.

School clubs include art, football, gymnastics, taekwondo, table tennis and drama, so there’s plenty for your child to get involved in. Please speak to the office for more details regarding breakfast, lunch and after-school clubs that provide a safe and fun environment for all children.
